Information
At 50 m wide and 45 m tall, the Monastery dwarfs the Treasury. The facade is simpler — sandstone weathered by wind into golden tones — and an upper viewpoint nearby looks west toward Wadi Araba and, on clear days, Palestine.
How to visit
Allow 45–60 minutes for the climb. Donkeys are available but the trail is rewarding on foot — there are rest stops with Bedouin tea.
